Lots has happened since the last entry. I can't believe how hard it is to maintain a blog. The last entry had to do with the birthing class. Well lets see... things that happened.
We spent the 3rd of July reconnecting (well I reconnected, Betsy newly connected) with some old friends, Joe and Jill Price and their wonderful kids Hannah and Casey at Hans and Nancy's place on the water while watching the fireworks. In a word... Spectacular! Thanks so much for the invite Joe and Jill. Betsy really enjoyed meeting you.
The 4th of July was spent at the Fabulous Delmendo household. Much fun, much food and a lot of fireworks again. Thanks Jon! Jon's mother supplied the meat for the BBQ. OMG There was literally POUNDS and POUNDS of meat. Chicken, ribs, hamburgers, hotdogs, not to mention all the other food to go with the meat! Driving home wasn't easy with a distended belly. Not Betsy... ME!!!! We had so much fun with Angela and Kimberly and the boys! We love hanging out with those little ruffians! In a couple of years (probably sooner) I am going to be leaving there with numerous bruises and possibly a black eye! I love those guys! I probably shouldn't rile them up so much. I have a feeling that we will have a fairly rowdy boy. Sort of a Karma type of deal! Should be fun!!
The 5th of July was a baby shower at Chris and Anna's house. Thanks you two for the use of your place. Especially since it was on your anniversary! We'd like to throw another shout out to Danni! She has to be one of the most creative people I've had the pleasure to know. Actually, everyone who had a hand in planning did so amazing! Kimberly, Anna, Danni and Trina! We love you guys. As a matter of fact... we love all our friends! I had a lot of fun chasing all the kids around and being chased by the kids. I was the designated swing pusher of Ella. Such a little sweetheart! Here are a couple of shower pictures.

Some wonderful handmade items for the baby. I didn't realize how multi-talented our friends are! We got so many nice gifts... The baby will look so nice and be so cozy at the same time.

The beautiful Gabrielle bringing Betsy a rose. There was a parade of children that came through and gave her roses. It was very touching. The kids were so adorable!
The next day we headed out to Leavenworth. Oh yes... I got a phone call the Thursday before we left and was told that I had a job interview on the day we were supposed to come home from Leavenworth. This meant that we had to leave at about 3 in the morning on Wednesday. Despite that little (and by little I mean huge!) stress hanging over my head... All I can say is what a gorgeous drive that was! The stay was a lot of fun. The weather was beautiful and the company was excellent! We swam, we hiked, we ate and ate and ate... I over ate! However, the highlight of this trip had to have been the mini-golfing. O.k. it may not have really been mini-golf. It was more of a 18 hole putting course. It was so beautiful! There was a pond, trees, waterfall, and goats! Yes goats on the side of the hill! Amazing little place. Here are a couple of pictures.
Here is the waterfall! Pretty nice for a little putting course!!

This picture is taken from the 18th hole. See the sand trap way in the distance. That's how big this place was!

A loving moment with beautiful scenery. We will be back!
As I said, we came home Wednesday in time for me to shower, shave, iron my clothes and make it to the interview. I was so tired that I felt pretty loopy for the interview. I was sure that I didn't do so well. On Thursday however, I got told that I was being hired!! Out of 120 applicants, I made it!! Now I will not be the "unemployed dad." It looks like I will be teaching second grade! I am so excited about this prospect!
Well I guess we are mostly caught up now. In writing this entry, I have realized that we aren't the best picture takers. We have the technology but always forget to use it. We need to really get on the ball with that. I can't keep emailing people for pictures to use with the blog entries. Hope I didn't bore anyone with the trivial details of our life! Here's a final picture just for fun!!

YUMMY YUMMY, BETSY'S TUMMY!!!
